All About Aubrey

Little over 3 years ago, during the season reunion of Making the Band, Aubrey O’Day finalized her membership as the rambunctious party girl and announced her plans to launch off her own reality/docu-series. Less than 3 years ago, the multi-platinum girl group known as Danity Kane was no more. And fans started to split in a 5 way side. Many claimed that Aubrey was the culprit, as she was critiqued about her bold extrovert personality, often resulting in her celebrity to be degraded for being so open. Others supported Aubrey’s ability to speak freely about her truth and pointed fingers elsewhere. When Danity Kane initially broke up, I refused to think that Aubrey single handedly ruined a multi-million dollar musical investment. It can’t be all her fault. I figured that Diddy was just being an evil overload whose hunger for power superseded his ability to reason with the internal issue (that eventually, were fueled by outside entities).

In the series opener “A Brand New O’Day,” Aubrey reflects on her career woes as she steps towards a brighter future with attempts of launching off a solo career. While the world witnesses her second chances of success, viewers are taken on a emotional rollercoaster as Aubrey battles everyday issues that resonates with contemporary young adults. In All About Aubrey, she is the main focus---enduring the demanding conditions of her entertainment career while balancing her humorous social life. Fueled by passion to create music, driven by fear of failure, Aubrey O’Day’s intense desire for fame makes up the perfect story of a comeback kid. This is her redemption moment. No longer under the iron fist of the mega man formerly known as Puff, Aubrey takes what she’s learned from the heartbreaking band experience and inserts it to revive her own dreams. This time around, it’s on her own terms, hence, All About Aubrey.
